Mental Health First Aid

In coordination with sponsors, North Central Washington Behavioral Health offers community education courses in Mental Health First Aid. This is an 8 hour certification course designed to teach community members how to identify and respond to mental health or substance use concerns. The course includes a 5-step action plan (ALGEE!) and a take-home participant manual. Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of common mental illnesses, the signs that indicate when someone may be experiencing a crisis, and the 5-step response to assist and identify additional resources.

Mental Health First Aid is a research-based fidelity course brought to you by the National Council for Behavioral Health. More information can be found on their websites.
